Dusk

While working on a short story – I will hopefully publish tomorrow – I found this old poem in my notes. At first I looked past it because I was certain I had published it here already but upon closer inspection it seems I forgot. Or maybe I wanted to implement a consistent meter before publishing but didn’t have the time or energy to do so. Anyhow – Let’s hope you haven’t read it already.

Dusk

As the flames burn brighter

and the smoke rises higher

we say farewell to our sun

with liquid poison in hand

and due to fear of the cold

we slip the shoes off our feet

and cuddle for sinful warmth

in someone else’s bed.

  1. Doesn’t look familiar to me, so I’m happy you took a second glance at it. I think it’s really great and I love the ending 😉

Great photo, too. Did you take that?
